Planning Your Arrival
Getting to your lesson at Ben Lomond involves a few steps, so please allow plenty of time. On busy weekends and during school holidays, we recommend allowing up to 3 hours from leaving Launceston to arriving at your lesson meeting point.
If you arrive late, without your equipment, or after your lesson has commenced, we may not be able to accommodate you.
Step 1: Drive to Ben Lomond Base
Allow approximately 30-40 minutes to drive from Launceston to Ben Lomond Base.
Please check road conditions before travelling and allow extra time during busy periods or winter weather.

Step 2: Collect Your Equipment
If you’ve booked rental equipment, you’ll stop by at Ben Lomond Base and collect it before driving up the mountain.

During busy weekends, school holidays and powder days, rental collection can take up to one hour, so please factor this into your travel plans, especially if you are a larger group.
Please note that equipment is not available up at the Alpine Village, and lessons cannot proceed without the required gear. Refunds cannot be issued in these circumstances.
Step 3: Travel to the Alpine Village
Once you’ve collected your equipment, continue up Ben Lomond Road to the Alpine Village.
The drive usually takes around 30 minutes, however snow, chain fitting requirements and traffic can increase travel times.
Allow extra time for if using the shuttle bus as there may be queues (This is operated by a different company, not Ben Lomond Alpine Resort)
Step 4: Park & Walk to Your Lesson
Once you’ve parked in the Alpine Village:
Put on your ski or snowboard boots, and get dressed in your outerwear, gloves and helmet, but dont put the skis/snowboard on just yet!
Allow 5-10 minutes to walk from the car park to the Snow Sports School meeting area, this is further up the boardwalk, past the Day Shelter and the Cafe at the base of the Summit and Bass lifts. On the side of the building is a large sign saying “Lesson Meeting Point”
Please arrive 10 minutes before your lesson start time so your instructor can check everyone in and begin lessons promptly.
