Ben Lomond Base will transform into a winter wonderland as we host our 3rd Christmas in July Extravaganza!
Join us and celebrate a Winter Christmas full of festive cheer and a range of local Tasmanian produce.For the third year in a row, Ben Lomond Base will host the ultimate winter experience – our Christmas in July Extravaganza!
Join us on 11 July 2026 from 3:00pm, when festivities kick off at Ben Lomond Base, just 30 minutes from Launceston, with live music, children’s entertainment, festive workshops, fairy floss, Christmas carols and local food and drink vendors.
In 2024 and 2025, tickets sold out ahead of the event, so make sure you secure yours early.
The Christmas in July Extravaganza is supported by the Tasmanian Government through Events Tasmania.

Adding a little extra sweetness to the festivities, Monica’s Fairy Floss will be spinning colourful, fluffy treats that are sure to delight kids and grown ups alike.

Begin your day at Base where you can hire winter clothing, snow chains and toboggans before heading up the mountain.
Enjoy a morning of tobogganing, snowball fights, and snowman building. Make beautiful family memories and see the most incredible scenery in Tasmania’s largest alpine area, Ben Lomond.
FEAST
Once Jack Frost starts nipping at your toes, return to Ben Lomond Base to warm up around our fire pits.
Enjoy hot chocolates, mulled wine, spiced cider and smores around the fire while enjoying live music and entertainment acts.
